Poor Economy: What have you given up?
This week was rough on the American stock market and world economy. I have been reading numerous articles about people giving up things they once thought of as necessities. In the past two months, I have been forced to give up a few things, as well:
MY CAR: I have had my own car since I [...]

Being a Superwoman
I was listening to Rabbi Shmuley on the radio this morning. He was talking about women who try to be perfect (i.e. the “Superwoman”). His essential advice was to “stop trying to be perfect”. I took this very much to heart, especially considering…

Food for a 1-Year-Old
Charlie is 1-year-old now. Mealtimes have become much more difficult. My little one is forming his own opinions and sharing them quite openly with me. If he sees a spoon filled with baby food moving toward his mouth, he swats it away with contempt (splattering it all over the place).
He only wants to eat what I’m eating.
“What’s that?” he asks, when…

Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog
Why did I not hear about this until now?? Why??
I am a BIG fan of Neil Patrick Harris from his baby boy days on Clara’s Heart, to his Doogie Howser days, to his stint on Rent, to Harold and Kumar, to How I Met Your Mother.
So if you’re like me and you haven’t heard of Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, here is a clip I found…

Slydial.com - Directly Connected to Voicemail
Have you heard of www.slydial.com? It’s a service that allows you to dial a mobile phone number and go directly to the voicemail for the line with no concern that you will have to actually speak to the individual you are calling. Sly, huh? The website suggests it can be used in a variety of situations, including being short on time, avoiding…

That One “Perfect” Mommy
We all know her. She can juggle three kids in her arms while cooking a fully organic meal (with food she grew in her garden) and sewing every outfit her children wear from organic cotton she grew and picked herself. She runs a full-time business out of her home while she home schools her children. She can afford any luxury because she only buys groceries with…

93-Year-Old Arrested for Soliciting Prostitute
Have you heard about the 93-year-old man arrested for soliciting a prostitute?
Here’s my question: If you are 93-years-old (male or female), alone and in need of some “attention”, what are your options? It’s not a sexy thought, I agree. But still, people have needs. Just because you’re old doesn’t mean…

Pre-Baby Life vs. Mommy Life
I was almost 35-years-old when I gave birth to Charlie, one year ago. So, I had a lot of years to establish a pre-baby lifestyle. For most of my 20’s, I was attending college and working full-time. I completed a Master’s program and started my career in the Tech World in my late 20’s.
During my entire 20’s and early 30’s, I spent much of my spare time going to the movies, hanging out with friends, going to happy hour, reading books, etc. Every weekend, I would…

Wipeout - July 15, 2008
ABC’s Wipeout started out this week with Bryan “Spaz” Sayas. He was wearing a purple sweatsuit and John Henson couldn’t help but crack “purple dinosaur” jokes.
Bryan almost made it across the Sucker Punch wall…which was pretty impressive. But, then he fell at the last minute. So, it didn’t count. Sorry Spaz…
