Brosnan can’t be trusted to sing well, and Fleetwood Mac just can’t be trusted, period.

Antonio and I celebrated our anniversary on Sunday night.  We dropped the kids off with the in-laws and went to the movies to see Mamma Mia.  Not the most romantic choice of a movie, but Antonio knew I wanted to see it and he wanted to do something nice for me.  How could I resist?   So we went.  And immediately I noticed something odd.  We were the youngest people in the theater.  By at least 20 years!!!

It makest sense when you think about it.  The people who were ABBA fans in their early 20’s are now in their late 50’s.  But the story of the movie is about a 20 year old girl and her mother, so you’d think the movie would appeal to a broader audience.  But, no.

The movie was somewhat of a disappointment.  Who told Pierce Brosnan he could sing?  How vain must he be, if he thinks his voice is of a professional singing quality?  On the bright side, he looked pretty darn yummy.   Meryl Streep’s acting was very good.  Her singing was not fantastic, but not offensive either.

From there, we went on to a nice relaxing dinner at Roy’s, an upscale Hawaiian fusion restaurant.  We ordered a bottle of wine, and an obscene amount of food.  Antonio swears he had more wine than I did, although I don’t know how, since he kept refilling my glass non-stop.

On the way home, we were both singing along to the radio.

Us:  “… thunder only happens when it’s raining…”

Me: You know, that’s really not true.  You can have thunder without rain.

Antonio: (laughs) Don’t look to a Fleetwood Mac song for meteorological accuracy.
